Sorry Alison so many sites removed the files i have them on my machine and still use this scanner on my PC, i finally have NBN so can upload the files now and now know what i need to do to fix.

Very nice of you to try to help those who love their S1500 scanners. I also love my S1500 on my old win7 pc. I just bought a new pc with win11 installed. I would like to install and use the S1500 on my new PC. How would you suggest I proceed? I still have the original S1500 installation CD and the original Adobe Acrobat X CD. Thank you for your help.

When I tested it, I still had to manually apply the drivers after installation. To help, I created a file:
s1500-x64.inf_amd64_ff718616e5120c3b.zip

After installing the main application, try going into Device Manager to add the driver manually.

When I click on the above url, I’m redirected to: https://www.pfu.ricoh.com/global/scanners/scansnap/dl/index.html

Seems that Ricoh doesn’t want people gaining access to the software/drivers for the no longer supported s1500.

Am I doing something incorrect?

Quando l’ho provato, dovevo ancora applicare manualmente i driver dopo l’installazione. Per aiutare, ho creato un file:

1. Press Win + X or right-click the Start button.
2. Select Device Manager from the menu.
3. Locate the unknown device (likely from the scanner) in the list, usually marked with a yellow exclamation point.
4. Double-click the unknown device to open its Properties window.
5. Go to the Driver tab and click Update Driver.
6. Choose Browse my computer for drivers.
7. Click Browse and navigate to the folder where you extracted the driver files.
8. Select the correct driver file (it’s usually clear which one to pick, often an .inf file).
9. Complete the installation and check that the device is recognized in Device Manager.

All of this posts on this string are interesting, yet I am still stuck

I am running windows 11. I downloaded the Wins1500Manager V55L10WW.exe file and loaded the ScanSnap Manager App. ScanSnap Manager is an App on my PC that looks like I can open and run, but when I click on it to open it nothing happens? I also downloaded the zip file with the driver (4 files) from your google drive but don’t have any idea what to do with those files, nor how to get the ScanSnap Manager to open.

Can you provide some layman steps for how to get this app running as I am not very computer savvy
